2024 Alumni Association Jazz Brunch

Join fellow members of the Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association, Board of Directors, families, and friends for our annual Jazz Brunch and presentation of the 2024 Adjutor Hominum Award and Young Alumnus/a of the Year Award.

The 2024 Adjutor Hominum Award recipient is Shawn M. Donnelley '91, and the 2024 Young Alumna of the Year is Shannon Donaldson '14.

About the Award Recipients 
Shawn DonnelleyShawn M. Donnelley '91 is President of Strategic Giving, a philanthropic consulting firm. She is a Guild Fellow of Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, and on the boards of the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Foundation, American Associates of the National Theatre, and is a past chairman and current life trustee of the Goodman Theatre. Her honors include Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network Award, Today's Chicago Woman "One of 100 Women Making a Difference in Chicago", Outstanding Individual Philanthropist, Treasure Coast Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Crain’s Chicago Business “Forty under Forty.” A member of the Economic Club of Chicago and The Commercial Club of Chicago, she previously served 10 years on the boards of United States Artists, Chicago Community Trust, and Loyola University New Orleans. Ms. Donnelley is the former head of political affairs for R.R. Donnelley. She received a B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and an M.A. from Emerson College.

Shannon DonaldsonShannon Donaldson '14 received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in Journalism at Loyola University New Orleans. As a student, Shannon served as editor of Wolf Magazine and president of Delta Gamma Fraternity in addition to serving as an admissions tour guide, orientation leader, member of The Maroon staff, student government officer, and Ignacio Volunteer in Belize. Following her graduation, Shannon worked as an admission counselor for Loyola, where she was responsible for recruiting in New York, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Since her departure from New Orleans to pursue graduate studies, she has continued to serve as a member of the Loyola Young Alumni Board and also currently serves as president of the Washington, D.C. Alumni chapter. She has spent her career working in higher and secondary education spaces, including the University of Maryland, College Park, Johns Hopkins University, and George Washington University. Shannon currently works as the Associate Director of College Counseling at The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, MD, and serves on the Counselor Advisory Boards for Loyola University New Orleans and Fairfield University. She continues to volunteer for Delta Gamma Fraternity Executive Offices as a traveling educational and leadership skills facilitator and as an advisor for a local collegiate chapter. Shannon holds a Masters in Higher Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and currently lives in Washington, D.C.
