Kick off the weekend by reconnecting with fellow LUCAP alumni at Gasa Gasa. There is no cost to attend. Loyola will provide light bites, and beverages will be available for purchase from the venue.

1) Immigration in America Teach-In 
9:00 a.m.
On Campus, Monroe Hall, Room 628
Facilitated by Fernando Chang-Muy '77, Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. This session will explore current immigration issues in America. 

Wolves on the Prowl Service Project
There are two service project opportunities: 
1) Making Sustainable Mardi Gras Throws with Grounds Krewe
Time: 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Location: Loyola's Campus, Monroe Hall, Room 610

Grounds Krewe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to promote waste prevention, recycling & sustainable products at New Orleans special events. Volunteers are needed to assemble sustainable Mardi Gras parade throws. The work is indoors, seated, and super easy: applying stickers, stuffing and tying bags, filling jars, folding up boxes, and kitting items. 

2) Volunteering at Harry Tompson Center
Time: 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Location: Harry Tompson Center, 1803 Gravier St., New Orleans, LA 70112

The Harry Tompson Center is a collaborative day shelter designed to improve the daily lives of New Orleans' unhoused community. Serving more than 200 individuals per day, the center strives to meet their guests’ basic needs through four pillars of service: hygiene, health, hospitality, and housing. Volunteers will help with some light landscaping, cleaning indoor facilities, and assembling medicine packets. Since this opportunity is located off Loyola's campus, we encourage volunteers to carpool or arrange their own transportation to the Center. Please note that the Center can accommodate only 20 volunteers, so spots are limited!
