Wolves on the Prowl 2026

For more than 20 years, the Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association has proudly organized Wolves on the Prowl, our annual community service campaign. There are multiple opportunities to volunteer with Alumni Chapters around the country. 

Tampa Alumni Chapter 

Saturday, October 17, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

• Location: Sacred Heart Church North Campus, 3515 North Florida Ave. Tampa 33603
• What to wear: Comfortable, closed-toed shoes/walking shoes
• Job Duties: We’ll be refurbishing bikes at Sacred Heart for Tampa community members in need. Children are allowed to attend with parental supervision. Closed-toed shoes required. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty; most work will be done outside.

New Orleans Alumni Chapter 

Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 12:00 to 2:00 pm

There are two service project opportunities this year:

1. Making Sustainable Mardi Gras Throws with Grounds Krewe: Grounds Krewe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to promote waste prevention, recycling & sustainable products at New Orleans special events. Volunteers are needed to assemble sustainable Mardi Gras parade throws. The work is indoors, seated, and super easy: applying stickers, stuffing and tying bags, filling jars, folding up boxes, and kitting items.
   Location: Loyola's Campus, Monroe Hall, Room 610
2. Volunteering at Harry Tompson Center: The Harry Tompson Center is a collaborative day shelter designed to improve the daily lives of New Orleans' unhoused community. Serving more than 200 individuals per day, the center strives to meet their guests’ basic needs through four pillars of service: hygiene, health, hospitality, and housing. Volunteers will help with some light landscaping, cleaning indoor facilities, and assembling medicine packets. Since this opportunity is located off Loyola's campus, we encourage volunteers to carpool or arrange their own transportation to the Center. Please note that the Center can accommodate only 20 volunteers, so spots are limited!

Baton Rouge Alumni Chapter 

Saturday, November 7 2026 | 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

• Location: Baton Roots Community Farm, 5509 Winbourne Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70805
• Join the Baton Rouge chapter in participating in our annual community service campaign, Wolves on the Prowl! On Saturday, November 7, meet us at Baton Roots Community Farm for a morning of creativity and community. Everyone must fill out the Baton Roots Volunteer waiver. Children are welcome to participate as long as they are monitored and their parent or guardian fills out the volunteer waiver on their behalf.

Lafayette Alumni Chapter 

Saturday, November 7 2026 | 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Location: Catholic Charities of Acadiana: St. Joseph Diner, 405 St. John St., Lafayette, LA 70502
• Join the Lafayette chapter for Wolves on the Prowl at St. Joseph's Diner. Help us provide a hot, fresh meal to those in need. All volunteers must be aged 12 and up. Any volunteer under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
